Physiotherapy

With a dedicated team of physiotherapists who specialise in dance and the performing arts, we provide exceptional care and comprehensive education designed around your individual needs and ambitions. Our approach not only aids in recovery but also empowers you with the knowledge to prevent future injuries, achieve peak physical form and understand your body better.

If you are a new patient with us, this is the first appointment to book!

During this session, we will go through a comprehensive assessment and together we will develop a personalized treatment and ongoing management plan.

Whether you have a new injury, previous or long-term issue, or seeking help with improving your health and physical performance, this is for you!

Duration: 60 minutes

If you have already had your initial appointment and are returning for ongoing treatment and management, a review appointment is for you!

This appointment follows-up on your progress following your detailed initial assessment and is best for additional treatment and adjusting your management plan as needed.

**If you are reviewing with a different physiotherapist than your initial appointment, have a complex issue, or multiple body areas being managed, we recommend you book the extended review appointment to ensure we have enough time to meet your needs!

Duration: 30 minutes

If you are currently seeing us for Physiotherapy and require longer review appointments for a complex issue or more than one issue currently being managed, this one is for you!

The extended appointment provides us additional time to ensure we can continue to provide thorough treatment and management for your condition/s and give each issue the attention it deserves. If you know you require more time with us, are following up on multiple body areas, or booking with a different physio for follow-up due to availability, please select this appointment!

Duration: 45 minutes

If you have seen us before but are experiencing a new injury or condition that we haven’t previously assessed, this is the preferred appointment for you to book!

This appointment is designed to provide us some additional time to ensure we can complete a thorough assessment of your concern and develop the appropriate management plan for you!

Duration: 45 minutes

If you are unable to see us in person due to your location, you can book this appointment for an online telehealth appointment through our secure video call link!

We can discuss any issues you are having and complete a physical assessment, go through self-management techniques, education, and exercise programs, and help you plan your training load to return to full function and reach your performance goals.

As dance physios with backgrounds in teaching dance and exercise, verbally instructing you through movement is one of our greatest skills and we have achieved a lot during our online appointments with dancers on contract and in schools and companies all over the world!

Duration: 60 minutes

If you have already had an initial physiotherapy appointment with us in person or online, this is your telehealth option for following up and reviewing your progress and management plan! This is designed for performing artists in schools, companies, or on contract interstate or overseas who need ongoing support.

Duration: 45 minutes

Physio-Led Exercise

Led by qualified physiotherapists, our exercise sessions combine the principles of pilates with the science of physiotherapy. Tailored for everyone from young dancers to professional artists, these classes are designed to help you improve technique, overcome recurring feedback, recover from setbacks, build strength, prevent injuries and increase body awareness. It’s all about providing supplementary training and support that adapts to you, helping you reach new heights in your performance.

If you are here because you would like to start physiotherapy private or group exercise sessions with us, this is where to start!

During this appointment we will discuss your goals, medical and injury history, and any current concerns. We will go through a physical assessment of your current capacity and discuss focus areas and the most appropriate plan for you to commence physiotherapy-led exercise sessions in our gym. We have private, semi-private, or group class options and can recommend the best pathway for you to work towards your goals, rehabilitate from injury, and improve your overall health and performance!

**Your physiotherapist will discuss further exercise session bookings and group classes with you following your assessment as only exercise privates are currently available to book online.

Duration: 45 mins

If you are needing one-on-one guidance and personalised exercise prescription tailored to your needs, this is the best session for you!

Privates are best suited to those rehabilitating from an injury, with specific technical and performance goals that require more focused attention and individualisation, for clients wanting home exercise programs, or if wanting to build up confidence with exercise and the use of our equipment before entering a group setting.

You may also prefer private sessions and that is also fine! We love how much we can achieve in this time with you to accelerate you towards your goals and maximise your performance!

Duration: 60 minutes

For our younger clients who are better in shorter sessions so that we get the best of their focus and energy, a shorter exercise private is a great option!

Also useful for those that are a short on time in their busy schedule but are needing some updates to their previously prescribed home exercise program.

Duration: 30 minutes

If you are looking for a small group session of 3-4 people where you can still receive focused attention and an individualised exercise program under a physiotherapist, then this is it!

Although in a group, each person will be working toward their own goals and focus areas with exercises tailored specifically to them. Groups are kept small to allow for the physiotherapist to prescribe, instruct, and guide each person through their exercises and provide the attention required to keep everyone safely and effectively working toward their goals!

This is best for those still rehabilitating injury or with specific technical and performance goals who require an individualised approach to their exercise plan.

Duration: 60 minutes

Alright performers, this one is a specialty just for you! If you are a dancer, acrobat, gymnast, cheerleader, aerial artist or other artistic athlete that wants to reach their full performance potential, these sessions are designed for you.

Although a larger group class of 6-8 people where everyone will work through the same equipment-based exercise program during the session, it is by no means ‘general’. Our physiotherapists have diverse dance training backgrounds, are experienced dance teachers, trained in pilates, have personal training and strength and conditioning coach qualifications, and have spent many years managing the physical health and injuries of performing artists and various athletes from 6 years old through to professionals and ex-performers.

These classes will provide the young performer an opportunity to receive regular strength, conditioning, flexibility and technique training tailored to their unique performance demands, under the guidance of a qualified physiotherapist who speaks their language, and aligning with the needs of their developing and growing bodies.

Duration: 60 minutes

Especially for our mini’s under 10 years old who would still like to join our physio-led exercise groups, we want to give them the attention they need!

Our little performers can get valuable benefits from regular and specific strength and conditioning, flexibility, and technique training under the educated guidance of a physiotherapist! But we know they have different focus areas to our older dancers due to their rapidly growing bodies pre-puberty, different injury profiles and load tolerances, and closer supervision required to keep them focused and engaged.

This group class focuses on developing fundamental skills, coordination, flexibility, and strength to promote healthy movement habits and support physical development in a safe and supportive environment. These sessions are slightly shorter so that we get the best of their focus and energy!

Duration: 45 minutes

Drawing from decades of experience in the dance world, our approach is grounded in a deep understanding of the specific nuances, requirements and demands of dance. We provide specialised physiotherapy services for dancers, all designed to elevate performance while safeguarding against injury. From aspiring ballet dancers preparing for pointe work to professional performers seeking to optimise their technique and strength, we provide care tailored to your discipline and needs.

Whether you are a young dancer or adult dancer, 3 years before commencing pointe work or 3 months, this is the place to start.

We pride ourselves on our comprehensive pointe readiness assessment, and our dedication to ‘being informed and being in form’ shines through in our focus on both the education and physical preparation aspects of the pre-pointe journey.

We will discuss the outcomes of your assessment, your individual recommendations around progressing to pointe, and provide the necessary exercise program to help you reach your goal.

Duration: 60 minutes

Inclusions: Pre-Pointe Equipment Pack including a pilates ball and theraband to support your individualised exercise program prescribed during your appointment, and a detailed report sent to your ballet teacher summarising your outcomes and plan.

This appointment is for those who have already had their Pre-Pointe Assessment with us and are returning to review their progress!

We will re-assess your readiness for those yet to pass and update your exercise program to reflect your current progress and ongoing goals. This is also the appointment for those returning to us after commencing pointe to discuss any questions, concerns, or areas they would like to focus on to support and improve their pointe work.

Duration: 30 minutes

If you have been asked to complete a Tertiary Dance Assessment for your university dance application, certificate course in dance, or an audition, this is what this appointment is for!

Duration: 45 minutes
Inclusions: Completed report in digital and/or hard copy.
